The second commitment of M33 in the 2020 Italian Rally Championship is upon us: next weekend the highly anticipated 68th Rallye Sanremo will start which will bring the tricolor challenge back to the narrow and technical special stages of the Ligurian Riviera in what, only in terms of numbers. promises to be an unprecedented challenge with 48 Rally2 class cars.

Andrea Mazzocchi and Fabio Andolfi will obviously be among the special observers in this challenge theater with an international flavor both for being the standard bearers of the ACI Team Italia project among the crews entered in the most performing category, and in light of the excellent debut at the Rally il Ciocco and Valle del Serchio which saw Andolfi on the podium and Mazzocchi brilliantly at the finish line of his debut race in Rally2.

“For this Rallye Sanremo we are definitely energized – commented Andolfi – the pre-race tests went very well, we have finalized the tuning of the car and we can’t wait to get started. Even if we are close to my home it will be difficult, I don’t know the tests because I played it many years ago in 2014, but we will do our best to do well. ” The Savonaese, who will start with number # 3 on the Michelin-wheeled Skoda Fabia Rally2 sailed by Stefano Savoia, finished third among the CIR members in the inaugural round and is therefore aiming for an important result in an attempt to collect more points for the classification.

For his part, not even Andrea Mazzocchi hides his enthusiasm, who sailed by Silvia Gallotti on the Skoda Fabia R5 # 10 with Pirelli tires will make his fifth appearance in the riparian race: “Great Sanremo race, we have always liked it! I don’t want to repeat myself but the goal is to increase the feeling with the car, hoping that the weather conditions are good in order to have a stable reference and bring home a good result net of the almost fifty starters in Rally2”.

The rally, the only one of the season, will be held on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday departure at 4.15 pm from the Old Sanremo Station in the direction of Bajardo where from 5.00 pm on the famous hairpin bends downhill from the Ligurian village there will be the special stage show broadcast live on ACI Sport TV (CH 228 SKY) and on the channels social media of the championship and ACI Sport. Sunday’s real stage, with three tests to be repeated twice: “San Bartolomeo” of 11.97 kilometers, the inevitable “Colle d’Oggia” with 7.89 kilometers and “Vignai” of 14.23 kilometers. The third passage will instead be developed on a single long special stage, the “Cesio-Carpasio” of 20.75 kilometers which will join the previous “San Bartolomeo” and “Colle d’Oggia” in a single stretch.

As with the Rally del Ciocco, the television and streaming coverage will be impressive and will allow you to follow all the action of the event in full live. In addition to the almost non-stop live shows on the Facebook page of the championship (www.facebook.com/CIRally), on ACI Sport TV (CH 228 SKY) and on Primocanale Motori (CH 10 of the DTT and 515 SKY) there will also be links of RAI Sport (CH 58 DTT) and obviously the in-depth information on other broadcasters such as Sportitalia (CH 60 DTT). Coverage also ensured by all national sector magazines, sports newspapers such as Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport, local Ligurian newspapers and much more.
